Terms of Service

Puente is a clinical communication and AI-assisted triage platform operated by LearnedGeek LLC (Wisconsin, United States). By using the service, you agree to the terms that follow.

What Puente is

Puente connects patients (and their caregivers) with their clinic's physicians via WhatsApp. Puente's AI classifies each inbound message by urgency, poses structured follow-up questions, and presents the physician with a prepared case containing organized clinical context.

What Puente is NOT

Puente is not a substitute for professional medical care.

  • Puente does not diagnose.
  • Puente does not prescribe medications.
  • Puente does not make clinical decisions — the treating physician always makes them.
  • Puente is not an emergency service.

In medical emergencies — call your local emergency services immediately. In Peru: SAMU 106. Do not wait for a WhatsApp response for situations requiring immediate attention.

Use of the service

Puente is intended for clinical communication between patients and their pediatric clinic. By using the service, you agree to:

  • Provide truthful information about symptoms and clinical context.
  • Not send messages for commercial, advertising, fraudulent, or harassment purposes.
  • Not use the service for illegal activities or to violate the rights of third parties.
  • Respect the WhatsApp Business Platform (Meta) messaging policies applicable to the channel.

You can opt out of the service at any time by messaging STOP or BAJA to your clinic's WhatsApp number; WhatsApp Business Platform processes the request at the platform level. To rejoin, send a new message to your clinic or email us at hola@puente.health.

Accounts and access

Patients access the service via WhatsApp using their phone number as identifier. No separate account creation is required.

Physicians and clinical staff access via Microsoft Entra ID. Access is limited to patients assigned to their clinic, with role-based permissions within the organization.

Data and privacy

Personal data processing is governed by our Privacy Policy , which describes what we collect, where it lives, and how to request access or deletion under Peru's Law N.° 29733.

Intellectual property

  • LearnedGeek LLC owns the Puente platform, including code, design, trademarks, and service content.
  • The content of messages you send through the service belongs to you (or the clinic, depending on the role).
  • You grant LearnedGeek LLC a limited license to process that content solely for the purpose of providing the clinical triage service.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service if we detect misuse, violation of these terms, or violation of WhatsApp Business Platform policies. In cases of clinical emergency or serious abuse, suspension may be immediate.

Enforcement ladder for client clinics:

  • First violation: written notice + 7 days to remediate.
  • Repeat violation: suspension of WhatsApp Business service access.
  • Serious violation (illegal use, fraud, patient abuse): immediate termination + notification to Meta and relevant authorities.

Limitation of liability

Puente is a support tool for medical practice. Clinical responsibility for decisions made using the service rests with the treating physician and their clinic. LearnedGeek LLC is not liable for damages arising from misuse of the service, for the physician's clinical decisions, nor for third-party service interruptions (WhatsApp, mobile networks, cloud providers).

Governing law

The operating entity (LearnedGeek LLC) is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States. The processing of personal data of patients in Peru is governed by Law N.° 29733 and its regulations. Any dispute related to these terms will first be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service or legal requirements evolve. The effective date above reflects the last material update. Substantive changes will be notified to physician users by email. Continued use of the service after a change implies acceptance.
